Lessons Learned

Hello All!
A Saturday has never looked so good :) It has been an interesting week. In life sometimes a bundle of small things will add up and take a toll. One word that seemed to come up this week was loneliness. In everyone's life at one point or another people get lonely. I have noticed that in between different seasons of life this feel can sneak up without warning. By no means do I write about such things in my life to have a pity party but just to share my experiences in hope maybe it can be a help to others. One quote that my husband actually shared in his Wednesday night class at church was "The path to the joy of Gods presence always leads us through joyless isolation, when the part of us that longs for connection is left painfully alone." If there is one thing I have taken from this week, it is wrapped up in this quote. In times of loneliness and need for connection we need to turn to God and let Him satisfy every longing and hurt we might have. God is always on time and brings those in your life right when you need them. I talked to a wise friend and she said you can't control how others act but you can control how you act and how you feel. Even when its difficult, I desire to let God fill every lonely part of me and fill me with His love and mercy that I might be the same to others. Here is a great song I came across in the pondering of this subject that I wanted to share.

My desire is if you ever feel lonely you will turn to God for His fulfillment and joy. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap Up

Hello All,
I am thoroughly enjoying this blogging concept. I am not sure if many people read my posts but I find it therapeutic making myself sit down and just write. Sometimes it is writing about nothing of real significance but just writing. If anyone knows me I am not one to give my opinion or share my thoughts unless you know me real well; so even the fact of starting a blog is a huge thing for me. Any who, I thought I would share of what my weekend consisted of. On Friday the husband and I went on a date, life gets busy so when we have the opportunity we like to go try a new experience. We found a great deal on groupon to Texas de Brazil. Let me just tell you it was so good but I left feeling like an animal killer lol. On Saturday we went on a hike with some family and it was beautiful. Growing up in New Mexico and then moving to Texas I really missed nature and hiking. I was happily surprised that there was such a nice trail in Cedar Hill that we got to explore. Then of course Sunday is filled with church activities, church in the morning and then we have our college connection group meet at our house in the evening. I love our church and our church family and it is always nice to see  and visit with them.  Aw, I actually remembered to take pictures of this weekend. :)
We like shoes, what can I say
He kept putting it on green and I keep putting it on red lol
                                                                 Cow killers, I tell you
                                                                   At our finest
                                                                  Nature, Got to love it

Well I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well and pray you have a blessed week!!

Classic

Happy Friday Everyone!
Yay its Friday, I am very ready for this weekend. We got some fun stuff planned :) in which you will find about later. Any who, lately when the husband and I have some free time we will start a tv series on netflix, well the show we have been currently watching is the Dick Van Dyke show, yes, a classic but a goodie. I promise the husband and I are old at heart. We have been thoroughly enjoying this series and now are currently on season 3. I have been observing Mary Tyler Moore style on the show and find it so cute; it is funny to see how small things come back in style from different eras. The show was filmed in the early 1960s, the style is very clean, and in one word I would say its house-wifey but then Mary Tyler Moore was a housewife on the show lol. Here are some examples.

She was famous for her tight capri's back in the day
I wish they had the whole picture of the dress
She wore these style of dresses a lot in the show
How awesome is that, a Mary Tyler Moore Barbie

Awe what a fun show, if you have never seen it, you should! Its funny and cute and more importantly clean. Well as time goes by I am slowly but surely trying to learn more about photoshop so that I can improve the appearance of my blog and make it more exciting. Any suggestions would be great :)
Have a great day!

FALLing in Love

Hello,
So let me tell you about my most favorite season. Yup, you guessed it…FALL! Ever since I was a little girl, I was so excited for school to start because that meant Fall was right around the corner. Growing up in New Mexico, September meant fall was here, the weather started to cool down and the joy of what Fall is would began. However, in Texas, it is a little different; usually Fall is only a month if that and the trees don’t start changing for a while. However, this week the weather is starting to cool down and there is this small scent of Fall in the air. Well I collaborated some pictures of why I love fall, and in hope that this cooler weather, if you would call late 80s cool weather, will be here to stay 
I Love when the leaves change colors!

                                                                       Pumpkins!!
Sweaters, scarfs, boots and fall colors!
And of course my favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Well I hope you pray with me that Fall is here to stay for a while :)
Have a wonderful day!!

Much Love,

Update

Happy Tuesday,Today is my Monday; I was feeling under the weather yesterday and trying to get better today. Therefore, I spent my labor day in bed. Update on my weekend, my family came in to town and as always, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them!! I did not take pictures this weekend, as I would have liked. Well one of my favorite parts of being with family is we cook and then eat. New Mexico is famous for its green and red chili! Thankfully, a couple of weeks ago I discovered that central market in Dallas sells and roasts green chili! So the husband and I bought a case and it’s delicious! Therefore, this weekend my mother and I made lots of yummy green and red chili! Writing about it gets me hungry lol. We also played plenty of Wii as well as go watch movies, the guys watched Planet of the Apes and the girls The Help. (What an amazing movie, The Help, not the Planet of the Apes).
Song for yesterday’s Monday
I chose a song from the movie Rio. We had a movie night at my church on Sunday night and we played Rio. I had seen it before and I find it very cute and quirky. I really enjoyed the music from the movie and decided to play not just one song but two songs from the movie. I could really pick three or four lol.

What romantic songs for birds lol.

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Lessons Learned

Its Friday Folks!
What a week, one busy week but a good one at that! As I look back on this week and I contemplate a lesson I have learned, I would say that I learned that no matter how busy life gets to keep on smiling. At points in life things can get very busy but it is how we react to the busyness that matters. Situations arise that might get on our nerves and frustrate us but its learning to have a good attitude that counts. So many times, I am guilty of taking out my frustrations on others that are not even directly involved in the situation. I desire to be person that shows love no matter the situation. I know I cannot depend on myself for such things but I know I can depend on God to give me His peace and joy in any situation! I pray daily that I will have the fruit of the spirit and that I will live it out daily!
Silly example, on the left we have my frustrated hungry face before chick-fil-a and then to the right we have my happy, not hungry face.

The goal is to smile before chick-fil-a, as well as after :)

Well it is the beginning of the weekend, my parents and cousin are in town and I am thoroughly looking forward to spending time with them!
P.S. I am trying to make my blog look more lively so I am practicing my Photoshop skills, if you have any suggestions or helpful tips I would love to hear them!
Have a great weekend!

Bye Summer, Hello Busyness

Happy September 1st,
Another summer gone, I cannot believe how fast it went by! This was my first summer as a real "adult" as I like to call it. First summer married and working a full time job that consisted of paying bills :) Never the less it was a great summer, my husband and I got to visit family in New Mexico, enjoyed plenty of church activities, celebrated our one year anniversary and got to spend time with some awesome friends! And now it’s back to the busyness of life and yet I am looking forward to it. This will be my first semester working an 8-5 job as well as starting my masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology. I am very excited about this new chapter in my life. I know that life will get busy because as well, my husband and I are in full time ministry but I still get excited to see all that is going to take place this semester. (You can tell I'm right out of college because I still refer to life in semesters ha) So my one of my many goals this semester is to keep this blog alive! I really enjoy having my blog and want to continue to improve it. Well I do not like posting blogs without pictures lol, so I am going to post a few from this summer activities.
Trip to New Mexico-Beautiful!
My Grandparents 50th Anniversary
Friend Fun!
And of course our 1 year anniversary!

Here are just a few fond memories of this summer.
Thank you for letting me share my stories with you!

Have a wonderful day!

Melody

P.S. My parents are coming to visit! So excited!!
