Sisterhood

As I sat here, pondering what to blog about yesterday something very exciting happened. I came across an amazing deal on a flight to see my best friend Erica, in Arizona! I have not seen her since my wedding, which has been over a year ago! It truly made my heart happy because since then she has had a precious baby boy, whom I cannot wait to meet!
As I was thinking of how excited I am to see her, I began to reminisce about the Sisterhood… I was half way through my sophomore year of college and was at a place in my life of loneliness, praying for some good, close friends. Well God did just that, He brought Erica into my life, she was on my hall in college (I was an R.A.) at the time and our friendship grew from there. My junior year she became an R.A. alongside two other amazing women, Stephanie and Angelica. We four became the Sisterhood! All so different in our own ways, yet became like sisters. However, with every season in life comes change, college could not last forever. We all ended up in very different places, starting new and exciting chapters in our lives.
Erica was the first to leave us, she moved backed to Arizona got married and just had a precious baby boy! Then Steph graduated and moved to Seattle, she is now a teacher and just got married! It broke my heart I could not attend her wedding but I am so excited for the new adventure she is on. Angelica was the last to leave me; we kept each other plenty company but she graduated and is living in Houston; which is not too far away but nonetheless far enough not to see each other. I am the only one left living in the same town where we all met. How I miss them all! Life gets busy and we do not get to talk as much as we would like but one thing I do know is that we will always have a special place in our hearts for each other! Friends will walk in and out of your life but some will make a difference. These women made a difference in my life! Here is to the Sisterhood!
Old School lol, our first R.A outing together
We always stood brown, white, brown, white (inside joke)
Hot stuff lol, we got pictures taken :)
  Love them Always!
Hope you all enjoyed my trip down memory lane about some amazing friends!!!

Weekend Wrap Up

Hello All,
Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! I was blessed to have a 3-day weekend and it was wonderful! The husband and I did not do anything amazing but I felt very productive. We were able to hang out with some awesome friends, clean the house and the husband took me to hobby lobby and I was able to get supplies for upcoming crafts :) Having that extra day was so helpful in accomplishing extra chores and accomplishing errands oh and relax! I had been feeling a little tired and life has been busy but I feel so relaxed after this weekend. Here is a picture of my craft supplies, cannot wait to get started!
I also got my first glue gun! Fun stuff I tell you!
I am also slowly but surely trying to improve the appearance of my blog. There are so many different options out there and it would be so easy and expensive to hire someone to design an awesome layout for me but I am determined to learn myself on how to make it look great! Suggestions welcomed :)
Have a great rest of the day!

Trying Out Baking

Hello All,
It is a beautiful morning on my side of the world; I woke up to the sound and smell of rain aww. God sure knew we needed rain in good ol Texas. The bad aspect to rain is that I just want to stay in bed all day :) My story of today is my adventure of making zucchini-carrot bread. My grandma, (we call her Nana) makes amazing zucchini bread and when I got married she gave me the recipe. I am not a great baker by any means but I felt that it was time I tried something more challenging than just frozen cookies or cake mix that comes from a box. A couple of weeks ago I tried making the zucchini bread but it turned out nothing like my nana's, I am not saying it was gross but it was not great. The husband had been asking me to try to make it again because he loves my nana's zucchini bread. Therefore, I did and it actually turned out pretty good! I thought I would share my journey.

I made muffins as well for breakfast for the week
                                                           Yummy!
Now you all can try to guess what is in the recipe ;)
Have a great day!!!!

Photobucket

Happy Monday!
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I have to say I really enjoyed this weekend. On Saturday the Husband and I and some friends went to a Mutemath concert. This is my husband's favorite group, and he had always wanted to go see them in concert. Well on our 1 year anniversary a friend of ours blessed us with tickets to see their show! I can't explain how excited my husband was! The night proved to be everything my husband expected. They were amazing live and the venue was awesome. We also got to meet the band members and get their autographs; my husband hasn't stopped talking about them since... lol Here are a collection of pictures from the concert.
The album up top was put together by my friend Mallorie; whom herself and her husband went to the concert with us.
You can tell what pictures of us where after the concert, we were all sweaty and gross lol.
I do have to say I am getting old, I was so sore and tired after the concert lol. Well it is very appropriate to play a song from them for music monday. Hope you enjoy!

Have a blessed week!!!

Pumpkin Lovin

Hello,
I know it has been forever since my last post! I have spent the last couple of weeks having plenty to write about but determined to do some more research on the art of blogging; as well as how to improve the look of my blog. I am not saying I have mastered it but have learned plenty and have lots to practice :) Who knew the blogging world could be so complicated. Nonetheless I am back :) I have truly missed writing. Like I said I have plenty to write about so I will be doing several flash backs. I will start with this past Saturday, the husband and I went to the Dallas Arboretum. They had a special Autumn theme and Cinderella village. I took tons of pictures but I choose some of my favorites to share.

                                                      It was Beautiful!!
Fun Fact: My husband proposed to me in front of the Cinderella castle at Disney World and gave me a glass slipper :)

Any who, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to go back! I am loving the month of October, there are several things to look forward to and experience. This weekend is filled with another fun event, cannot wait to share about it.

Have a wonderful weekend!
